Not to be dramatic, but if you know me well, you probably know that I fell asleep on February 13, 2025, a few minutes past 3pm. Since the onset of my slumber, I’ve experienced some ego death, a sprinkle of hyper-silliness, and my therapist saying that we need to meet more often. Maybe if I didn’t quit Bass Choir this wouldn’t have happened, (I’m not) sorry!
Now that we’ve acknowledged that mess, let’s acknowledge the slays of the new year!
My passport came, yippee! My passport application was a huge mess because the doll (me) was not re-adopted in the states, therefore I do not have an amended U.S. birth certificate (the main thing they look for from adopted passport applicants)! After sprinkling some diva magic into a letter and sending it to the Department of State, my passport shipped. Since my passport was the last thing I needed before Ireland, operation Eat the Girlies Up in Ireland is a go!
Slay number two is the media and literature I’ve been consuming. Since the start of 2026, I have seen The Outsiders and the Stranger Things Finale, both of which I enjoyed. I am currently reading 107 Days by Kamala Harris. Sure, I don’t agree with all of her POVs, but you and I both know Mamala would not let Am*rica become this evil. Next, I want to revisit Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy–unconventional read, but I want to revisit this junior year literary analysis throwback since I never actually finished it despite slaying the paper. I am currently accepting book recommendations (no Heated Rivalry).
The next slay of 2026 is an awesome $1,000 scholarship I received courtesy of Urban League STL’s President McMillan (who just accepted my LinkedIn connection, yay)! As amazing as I am, I honestly didn’t have to do anything but submit pictures of some forms. This scholarship was awarded to my fellow Cultural Leadership Class 19 angels and me through a promise that President McMillan made to our class which has come to fruition! I am so grateful to have reunited with my CL dolls at the award ceremony prior to returning to confinement (school).
Speaking of school, so many good things are happening. Rapid fire slays: starting therapy, ramen bin restock, taking 21 credits, establishing reading and playing guitar as my relaxation habits, disconnecting from social media, drinking more water, (hopefully) exploring new extracurriculars, seeing Britney again, and more to come! Hopefully, in the super near future I can add a boyfriend to that list (0 applicants as of right now).
Anyway, that’s what’s going on at the doll house! Feel free to text me your slays in an unprompted manner!
Bleh.
